Brief

Create delightful, differentiated mobile experiences for Petro-Canada customers, and rediscover and reinvent the app for its future releases.

My role

Managed the future-release features and ran the workshop to reinvent the experience, then designed them from information architecture and wireframes to an interactive prototype and user testing.

Outcome

Shipped. The design is live in the Petro-Canada app today.

What the app does

One app for everything a driver does at a Petro-Canada station.

Join and find a station

Mobile onboarding to join or sign in, with the nearest station, its hours, and directions on the first screen.

Earn and redeem

The loyalty and rewards program, with the points balance shown as money off and offers priced in points or dollars.

Pay and wash

Mobile and point-of-sale payment, saved cards, and car wash passes bought with points or a card, then reloaded.

Onboarding screens: join or sign in, EV Fast Charge, and a community story, each with the nearest station below

How I worked

  • Workshop: ran a workshop to rediscover and reinvent the experience.
  • Future releases: managed the features planned for the next releases.
  • Agile delivery: worked collaboratively with a scrum team in a rapid agile environment.
  • Design to testing: information architecture, wireframes, an interactive prototype, and user testing.

Let’s create something people love.

Open to conversations about design leadership, product strategy, and human-centred design.
